Boy's Room: HGTV Dream Home 2010

I just love the boys bedroom in the new HGTV Dream Home.  It was inspired by Disney·Pixar's Toy Story.  The color and fabrics make the room.

Kitchen Love

This is a Christopher Peacock kitchen, it was my inspiration when building our home a few years ago.  I loved the white cabinets and big island in this kitchen. It has beautiful moldings, and a butcher block counter top. I also really like the color of the hardwood floors, and all the light that comes in through the two big windows.

We gave this picture to our kitchen designer and waited for our new kitchen to be installed.  What we didn't realize was all the small details in this kitchen put us way out of our price range, and some of the materials used here are not so kid friendly.  Anywho, this was our attempt to stay close to our budget and still create the look of this kitchen. When all was said and done, it really does't look all that much like the picture but it works for us.

White Party

Ever since I first saw P.Diddy's White Party in the Hamptons, I knew I had to have one.  This year I finally decided to do it.  It was my husbands birthday in August and I figured why not, it was the perfect time... a HOT summer night, everyone was tan and ready for a good time.

The invitations went out ... we were having a THEME PARTY and YES you had to wear white, no exceptions!

To my surprise, everyone got really into it and looked great.  The music kept everyone dancing and we even made a signiture drink which helped kick off the night.

Raspberri Fizz
1 part ABSOLUT RASPBERRI Vodka
3 parts sparkling limeaide

They were a hit...we couldn't make them fast enough.

Weekend project

While surfing some of my favorite blogs, I came across this... how great!

My photo obsession

I have always loved to take pictures and when digital cameras came along, forget it.  I have TONS and TONS of pictures that I have taken over the years.  I'm great at taking the pictures and having them printed is pretty cheap, but organizing them into albums... I'm not so great at.  About a year ago, a friend of mine introduced me to photo books and now I can't stop making them.  Its great for me because it combines my love of taking pictures and I get to be creative in graphic design/layout.  It's also great because it allows the pictures to actually tell a story rather than just shoving them into a album.  Have you seen these?  Here is one that I did for my husband on our last anniversary...

hello world

This is my first post. I have been thinking about starting this blog for months and today is the day I finally get started. I hope to share with you things that inspire me and keep me going in every day life.
